Broadview Heights Community Garden

The City of Broadview Heights, Chippewa Garden Club, Inc., and Air Control Products started a community garden located at 3800 Towpath Trail; adjacent to Air Control Products whose CEO Robert Greene made the 120’x120’ parcel available.

In its inaugural year, Greene Acres and the City of Broadview Heights fenced the entire garden and installed a water line for gardeners. In its second year Greene Acres has increase the number of plots available and constructed a storage shed, compost bins, raised garden bins for those preferring elevated access to their garden plots, and a bulletin board for communications.

The garden plots are available to anyone who lives in, works for a business located in Broadview Heights, or is a member of the Chippewa Garden Club.

Community gardens are becoming more important as sources of education and support for people interested in gardening as a healthful activity; growing their own organic vegetables; and associating with other like-minded residents.
