HR Generalist
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing a wide range of HR-related duties and working closely with the HR team and company leadership to support the organization’s workforce. This role involves managing employee relations, administering benefits, enforcing company policies, and ensuring compliance with employment laws. The HR Generalist will contribute to a positive workplace culture by fostering effective communication and supporting employee development.
Essential Functions
• Administer day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
• Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and promoting a positive work environment.
• Manage and maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
• Oversee benefits administration, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave programs.
• Support performance management processes by coordinating evaluations, feedback sessions, and development plans.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Coordinate training and development initiatives to enhance employee skills and career growth.
• Assist with payroll processing and timekeeping accuracy.
• Contribute to HR strategy by identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiency.
• Participate in employee engagement activities and company culture initiatives.
• All other duties as assigned.
Competencies or Experience Requirements
• 2-5 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably as a generalist.
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs without assistance.
- Must be able to stand and/or sit for several hours at a time.
- Ability to work in hot, cold and/or loud environments effectively.
- Ability to squat, kneel, lift, push and bend.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Travel
Travel is not required.
