EAS Constructs OSUs Expansion

EAS was recently contracted to construct, deliver and install (13) large scale custom air handling units for the OSU’s medical center’s new expansion, “Project One”. This build took place at The Ohio State University’s James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus, OH. Two different Air Handling Units were used in the off-site construction of the James Cancer Hospital: Double Decker & Triple Decker. As The Ohio State University states, “As the patient-care component of Ohio State’s cancer program, the James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute is a transformational facility that integrates scientific research, education and innovative patient care. Research and education spaces are located on every inpatient floor, enhancing our bench-to-bedside approach to patient care and giving patients early access to new-targeted treatments and tools.” We are glad that EAS and Air Control Products could take part in such a great build.

  • The AHU was constructed in (12) sections, (5) first level (5) second level (2) third level
  • All sections were shipped, unloaded and rigged into place under EAS supervision
    • The first level contains: Mixed Air Section, Air Blending, Pre-filter, Intermediate Filter, Carbon Filter, Pre-heat Coils, Cooling Coils, Sound Attenuation, (4) Supply Fans, HEPA Filters, Humidifiers and Supply Smoke Dampers
    • The second level contains: Mixed Air Section, Air Blending, Pre-filter, Intermediate Filter, Carbon Filter, Pre-heat Coils, Sound Attenuation, (4) Supply Fans, HEPA Filters, humidifiers and Supply Smoke Dampers
    • The third level contains: Intake Smoke Dampers, (4) Return Fans, Supply and Relief Dampers
