Applied Equipment Summit – Columbus

October 8, 2026

Event Description

2026 ACP Applied Equipment Summit: Performance by Design

Registration has closed but if you are interested in attending the Applied Equipment Summit, please reach out to your ACP representative.

Energy efficiency, high performance, and resilience do not happen by accident — they are designed with purpose. How will your next HVAC system design separate you from the pack? What is your path forward? Join us at 2026 ACP Applied Summit for insights regarding:

  1. DOAS units: design parameters and demonstration unit
  2. Custom Air Handler units: design features and optimizing performance
  3. Low Temperature Perimeter Heating: components and system solutions
  4. Fan coils: a new generation of units

DOAS Units: Design Parameters and Demonstration Unit by Levi Erickson, Greenheck

Buildings require fresh, clean outside air and some buildings even require 100% outside air. Dedicated Outdoor Air Systems present unique challenges for comfort and energy efficiency. Proper humidity control is also critical. This course will review fans, coils, filtration, compressors, configurations, and controls of DOAS units. A product trailer will also be available to better understand key components.

If you cannot attend the entire Applied Summit, please register below and let us know which classes you will attend by emailing marketing@aircontrolproducts.com.

Custom Air Handler Design by Bill Cleary, Cambridgeport

Where do you start — napkin, paper, pencil, walls, fans, coils? It’s called custom for a reason, but it does not need to be overwhelming. This course will discuss fan type selection, coils: types, sizing and positions, filter banks, damper configurations, wall construction, pressure considerations, sound attenuation, mounting and rigging practices, and testing guidelines. A tabletop sample will also be available.

Low Temperature Perimeter Heating Solutions by Julius Atkins, Price Industries

As energy codes evolve and electrification becomes a central strategy for decarbonizing buildings, designers and engineers face new challenges in maintaining occupant comfort, especially along perimeter zones. This course explores the design challenges with traditional solutions due to the impact of lower hot water temperatures driven by modern energy codes. We’ll dive into the performance and design considerations of trench convectors and natural convection wall heaters, examining how these systems respond to reduced water temperatures and what strategies can be employed to optimize their effectiveness. Attendees will gain insights into balancing energy efficiency with thermal comfort and learn practical approaches for integrating low temperature heating solutions in high-performance building envelopes.

Fan Coils: A New Generation of Units by Mason Kujanpaa, Price Industries

Fan coils of today are not the fan coils of yesterday. Efficiency, sound, and high performance requirements have forced an evolution in designs. Vertical, horizontal, exposed, or concealed — each have their place. This course will review types of fan coils, fan motors, filtration options, static pressure capabilities and selection considerations. Product samples will also be on display.
