This position works out of our 3800 Towpath Trl. Broadview Heights, OH office.
Job Summary
The Financial Analyst position plays a critical role in our company’s financial management and analysis. Responsibilities include overseeing various accounting aspects, conducting financial analysis, and managing data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and data analytics, with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
Data and Analytics – Business Intelligence (BI):
- Utilize BI tools to analyze financial data and generate insights.
- Develop reports and dashboards to support decision-making processes.
- Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
Project Accuracy Management:
- Ensure accuracy of financial data related to projects, including headers, lines, and closing entries.
- Implement controls to maintain data integrity and accuracy.
Inventory Price Levels & Cost Management:
- Analyze inventory pricing and cost structures.
- Develop strategies to optimize inventory pricing and cost management.
Financial Accounting Support:
- Assist the Controller in month-end closing activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reports under the guidance of the Controller.
- Collaborate with the Controller and cross-functional teams to resolve discrepancies and variances.
Credit Management:
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of new customers and assess credit risk.
- Monitor and manage credit limits for existing customers.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
Tax Exempt Management:
- Manage tax-exempt status for customers and projects.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist to streamline tax exemption processes.
Lien Management:
- Oversee lien management processes, including JIS (Joint Inspection System), NOC (Notice of Commencement), and NOF (Notice of Furnishing).
- Coordinate lien management activities with relevant stakeholders.
- All other duties as assigned.
Competencies or Experience Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial concepts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial software systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all work activities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to operate a computer and other productive office equipment.
- Ability to lift, squat, stand, kneel and bend without assistance.
- Must be able to communicate professionally and effectively.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CFA certification preferred.
