Northwoods Cultivation Grow Facility: Clyde, Ohio

About the Project

Indoor cultivation is one of the most demanding applications in commercial HVAC. Temperature, humidity, and airflow all have to land within a tight band, every hour of every day. There is no room for guesswork or drift. Get the environment wrong, and you lose plant health, yield, and crop value.

Air Control Products served as the air movement and ductwork supplier for Northwoods Cultivation in Clyde, Ohio, a high-performance indoor grow facility completed in November 2025. ACP worked alongside Griner Engineering, general contractor Sperling Heating, and manufacturers DuctSox, Hranec, Price Industries, and Greenheck on the January through November 2025 build.

Key equipment provided by ACP included:

  • DuctSox: Opti-X Fabric Duct System with Cable Suspension
  • Hranec: Single + Double Wall Spiral Ductwork
  • Price Industries: Drum Diffusers and Custom Oversized Return Grilles (96″ x 40″)

ACP’s Role

Beyond supplying product, ACP managed phased procurement and delivery sequencing across multiple active construction zones. Rather than releasing the full duct order at once, ACP coordinated with the contractor and manufacturers to release materials zone by zone as each area came online. This approach minimized site congestion, kept materials available exactly when needed, and supported a smooth handoff from fabrication to installation.

Project Solutions

Spiral Ductwork | Hranec

ACP supplied approximately 4,870 feet of single-wall galvanized spiral duct and 655 fittings, with diameters up to 52″. All fabrication and installation met SMACNA Class A sealing standards for airtight, long-term performance, essential in a controlled grow environment where pressure and air balance directly affect crop conditions.

Opti-X Fabric | DuctSox

124 DuctSox runs were installed across the facility’s grow rooms, mother rooms, and drying areas to maintain consistent and controlled environmental conditions. The system uses Opti-X fabric, engineered for precise, low-velocity dispersion that maintains uniform conditions without disrupting canopy airflow. A cable suspension system was specified throughout for cost-effective, efficient installation.

Grilles, Registers, Diffusers | Price Industries

ACP provided 273 aluminum grilles, registers, and diffusers, selected for durability in the high-humidity environment. The package included drum diffusers, which deliver high-capacity, directional airflow ideal for distributing conditioned air across large grow zones, and custom 96″ x 40″ oversized return grilles, manufactured to the project’s specific dimensional requirements to handle the high return air volumes the facility’s environmental control demands.

The result

Over 4,800 feet of spiral duct, 120+ DuctSox runs, and 270+ air devices were delivered through a phased strategy aligned with construction progress, keeping the 11-month build on schedule and delivering the precise environmental control the facility’s operations depend on.
