Air Control Products (ACP) provided a comprehensive air movement and sound control package for the new Sherwin-Williams Global Headquarters. The project featured an advanced Underfloor Air Distribution (UFAD) system and trench heating solutions from Price Industries, engineered to maximize comfort, energy efficiency, and design flexibility.
The UFAD system delivers conditioned air through a raised-floor plenum into the occupied zone via floor diffusers, supporting thermal stratification that allows heat and contaminants to rise naturally toward the return air path. This improves indoor air quality while reducing fan energy use compared to traditional overhead systems.
To complement the project’s open-office design, ACP also provided custom-engineered acoustical plenums and wall assemblies developed with Price engineers to ensure superior sound control, privacy, and architectural integration. In addition, Greenheck life safety dampers, tested and certified to UL 555 and UL 555S standards, were installed throughout the facility for fire and smoke protection in compliance with NFPA 90A.
Together, these systems created a high-performance environment defined by comfort, safety, and modern efficiency.
ACP partnered with The K Company and Southland Industries, long-time collaborators experienced in large-scale mechanical projects. The client chose ACP for its proven technical expertise, deep product knowledge, and reliable coordination from design through commissioning.
Facing an aggressive and evolving schedule, ACP maintained project momentum through proactive communication and logistics planning—coordinating directly with Price Industries, Greenheck, and the contractors to release materials based on real-time jobsite progress. This approach ensured materials arrived in sync with construction milestones, keeping installation on schedule and the project on track.
The Price UFAD system provided a flexible, energy-efficient air delivery solution ideal for dynamic office environments. By delivering air at slightly higher temperatures and lower velocities through raised-floor diffusers, the system maintained comfort while improving occupant control and overall efficiency.
ACP collaborated with Price engineers to develop custom acoustical plenums and barrier wall assemblies that balanced high-performance sound isolation with clean architectural aesthetics. These assemblies minimized vibration and mechanical noise, allowing the building’s design intent to shine without compromise.
The completed HVAC system met every performance and design objective, achieving efficient, quiet, and adaptable air movement across the entire headquarters.
The collaboration between ACP, Price Industries, and Greenheck resulted in a system that is not only energy-efficient and code-compliant but also built for the future—supporting workspace flexibility and long-term occupant comfort.
This project stands as a showcase of precision engineering, proactive collaboration, and trusted partnerships—core principles that define Air Control Products’ approach to complex commercial projects.
